How more than 15 years with EAL and ELICOS students — in Australia and the Middle East, across community colleges, TAFEs and RTOs — became EAL resources written and validated for vocational learners.

Suzanne Martin is an experienced Instructional Designer and Resource Writer with a passion for teaching and more than 15 years’ experience working with EAL (English as an Additional Language) and ELICOS students in both Australia and the Middle East. She has worked in a variety of educational settings, including community colleges, TAFEs and RTOs, gaining valuable insights into diverse learning environments.
Currently, Suzanne specialises in language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) support, assisting vocational students with specific language and literacy needs across a wide range of courses such as Community Services, Early Childhood, Education Support, Floristry and Design. Each of those disciplines carries a vocabulary of its own, and each asks something of the reader before it asks anything of the learner.
She is dedicated to developing and validating EAL resources at Career Calling, ensuring that materials are accessible, relevant and effective for learners from diverse backgrounds. Suzanne’s expertise in writing EAL materials and her commitment to supporting students’ educational journeys make her a valued contributor to the Career Calling team.
